Unlike conventional compost that relies purely on thermal decomposition by bacteria, vermicomposting is an enzymatic and microbial digestion process.

As earthworms consume organic vegetable and agricultural scraps along with carefully monitored bedding materials, the matter passes through their digestive tracts. Inside the worm gizzard, beneficial microbes coat each particle, neutralizing pathogens and transforming raw minerals into biologically active water-soluble plant nutrition.
